These values, born from revolutionary vision, continue to shape how we define citizenship, leadership, and public life. At **Cives**, these values are more than symbolic—they're the foundation of our mission. **From Historical Independence to Modern Empowerment** In 1776, independence meant breaking free from a monarchy and building a government by and for the people. Today, while the context has evolved, the principle endures: **citizens must be heard, included, and empowered** in shaping their communities and future. But the ways we participate in democracy haven’t kept pace with the technologies we use in everyday life. Many feel disconnected from public decision-making, overwhelmed by information, or unheard by institutions. This is where Cives comes in. **Civic Tech for a New Era of Democracy** Cives is building the infrastructure for **accessible, sustainable and inclusive civic engagement**. We believe that **technology—when designed ethically and transparently—can bridge the gap between people and power**. Our AI-powered tools help public institutions and communities listen better, respond smarter, and collaborate more meaningfully. Our work advances: - **Democracy** by enabling continuous, scalable public input - **Innovation** by designing cutting-edge tools grounded in civic values - **Inclusion** by making engagement accessible to more voices, especially those historically underrepresented **Celebrating Independence Through Action** On this Independence Day, we reflect not only on the freedoms we’ve inherited, but on the responsibility to **reimagine how those freedoms are expressed in the digital age**. Independence today is not just about self-rule—it’s about **shared voice**, **collaborative governance**, and ensuring that civic participation is not a privilege, but a right for all. At Cives, we’re not just building software—we're helping build the next chapter in democratic engagement. **Happy Independence Day. Here’s to a future where every voice matters—and is heard.** - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) [![How Cives Is Redefining Government Collaboration on Cisco Webex](https://cives.ai/hubfs/CL.png)](https://cives.ai/bloginsights/how-cives-is-redefining-government-collaboration-on-cisco-webex) #### [How Cives Is Redefining Government Collaboration on Cisco Webex](https://cives.ai/bloginsights/how-cives-is-redefining-government-collaboration-on-cisco-webex) [Brian McGlynn](https://cives.ai/bloginsights/author/brian) : Jun 2, 2026 11:41:33 AM This week in Las Vegas, Cisco Live 2026 brings together thousands of technology leaders to debate the future of intelligent infrastructure,...
